Bayer 04 Leverkusen has booked its place in the semifinals of the DFB-Pokal after a thrilling 3-2 victory over VfB Stuttgart in the quarterfinal on Tuesday.

In a match that lived up to its billing, both teams traded blows from the opening whistle. Stuttgart dominated the early stages and took a deserved lead through Waldemar Anton in the 11th minute.

However, Leverkusen responded strongly and drew level shortly after the half-hour mark through Robert Andrich. The visitors then took the lead for the first time in the match just before halftime thanks to a stunning strike from Jeremie Frimpong.

The second half was just as entertaining, with both teams continuing to attack. Stuttgart equalized through Gil Dias in the 60th minute, but Leverkusen had the final say when Amine Adli scored the winning goal in the 82nd minute.

The victory keeps Leverkusen's hopes of winning the treble alive. Gerardo Seoane's men are also in contention for the Bundesliga title and the UEFA Champions League.
