Acrylic vs. Gel Overlay: Transforming Your Nails
Acrylic Overlay
An acrylic overlay is a type of nail enhancement that involves applying acrylic powder and monomer liquid to create a durable, hard nail surface. This overlay strengthens and protects natural nails and can be used to enhance their shape, but not their length.
Gel Overlay
Gel overlay, on the other hand, uses a gel-based substance to create a protective layer over natural nails. Unlike acrylic overlays, gel overlays do not involve any powders or liquids. They are applied using a brush and cured under a UV lamp, resulting in a more flexible and natural-looking finish. Gel overlays can enhance nail shape and protect natural nails, but they do not significantly extend the nail length.
